        For this Literacy Circles meeting, I was the Vocabulary Enricher. I chose six important words out of the 3 chapters we read. Here is a list of the words and definitions:

• Dull - causing boredom or uninteresting.
• Dejected - disheartened, or low spirited
• Phonograph - record player
• Turnpike - high speed highway, often with tolls
• Doldrums - a state of inactivity or stagnation
• Gruff - rough, brusque, or surly
• Connotation - something suggested or implied
